Alana Forrest
Founder
Alana Forrest began her public service career in 1983 at the Palo Alto Police Department where she rose through the ranks to Lieutenant. She moved to the Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police Department in 2000. She managed and led both support and operations during her 29-year law enforcement career and retired as a Captain in February of 2012. Three years prior to her retirement, she worked part-time in both technical writing and corporate security strategies, including training, organizational development, and special operations. This work eventually led her to Pixar Animation Studios in 2013, when she became the Director of Safety and Security.
Ms. Forrest has a MA in Education and a BS in Criminal Justice and has attended numerous executive level leadership programs across the country. She held the position of Executive Committee member and President on two non-profit boards from 2001-2015 and is a staunch believer in giving back to the community. Ms. Forrest co-founded the California Women Leaders in Law Enforcement Symposium and participates in any initiative that promotes and supports women and girls to achieve their professional and personal dreams. She enjoys lifelong learning, coaching and mentoring, anything athletic, gardening, fine dining, and travel. She is married and has two four-legged children, Nicki and Maverick.
